Transformation programmes of work

Over the 30 years, and mainly through the PMO roles, led or co-led major Transformation programmes of work for the delivery side of the organisations. Delivered complete project management software systems and processes integration.

Complexity Consultancy

Delivery of consultancy and/or expert advice on the subject of complexity to various organisations based on the research carried out in the field of complexity, the association with a number of forums dealing with the subject ((International Centre of Complex Project Management (ICCPM) and Complex Projects Research Consortium (CPRC)), the continuous education on the latest thinking of the subject, as well as the delivery of training on complexity when rolling out the Framework for Managing Complexity of Interconnections (F4MCI ®). The F4MCI ® has been endorsed by ICCPM as a management decision tool which supports PMs and the team for the management of the effects of complexity on projects.
Written and gave presentations extensively on the subject at industry conferences and Universities.

Course Leader of the BSc in Project Control and Senior Lecturer in the BSc in Project Management run by the London Metropolitan College / University of West London partnership. Generated and delivered training modules on project management processes - from project practitioners to Executive level Management, as well as Finance and Strategy & Regulation personnel in UK and overseas. Lectured on other UK Universities a number of BSc / MSc Modules topics on P3M subjects.

The Framework for Managing Complexity of Interconnections® (F4MCI®)

Having completed a PhD in 'Managing Complexity in Project teams'®, which had as an output the development of a Framework for the Management of Complexity of Interconnections (F4MCI®), proceeded to commercialise the software. The software, which can be used by Project Managers and Team Leaders, enables the management of the effects of complexity of interconnections through the processes that affect and are part of measuring project management outcome. The F4MCI® was validated by practitioners, from Director to Project Manager level, and endorsed by the International Centre for Complex Project Management as a Management Decision making tool. The International Centre for complex Project Management in its report 'Global Perspectives and Strategic Agenda to 2025' has recommended the F4MCI® as tool for decision-making. Further development is currently under way to complete the set of tools that will enable the management of complexity for all the processes that affect the project management outcome.

Research in Project Management

As part of continuous improvement further research is and will be carried out in a number of areas:
  • Continuing with Complexity in project management. A number of tools will be developed to complete the set that will enable project managers and team leaders to manage the effects of complexity through the processes that affect the project management outcome. Also, research the how the effects of complexity can be managed on other processes, e.g. Governance, Supply chain, Briefing, etc.
  • Risk Management and Risk Management & Building Information Modelling (BIM) - extending earlier development of the 3D Risk Matrix concept, as well as expanding on the use of software tools, such as Oracle Primavera P6 and incorporating risk registers on project schedules.
  • Implementation of blockchain on the delivery of projects.
  • Working on the use of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in project management
  • Developing an approach for the use of neural networks in project management.
